Visually impaired school/college graduates are trained in skills that qualify them as potential candidates for white collar jobs [that require computer usage and programming skills] in banks, insurance companies and other roles in the private, public and government sectors. Our capacity is being scaled from 40 beneficiaries per year to over 100 beneficiaries per year, while reducing the cost per beneficiary by 2x.

Train the Trainer Program

Capacity Building & Scaling up of our Computer Based Training Course
It’s essential to build more trainers to provide qualitative training to people with vision impairment. By adding more trainers we will be exponentially increasing the reach of NAB within the State. We plan to train 16 new instructors and establish new taluk level locations each year-thus increasing our capacity by 400-500 beneficiaries per year.

These computer vocational courses impart computer skills that qualify the Visually impaired as potential candidates for white collar jobs [that require computer usage and programming skills in banks, insurance companies and other roles in the private, public and government sectors. The vocational courses being offered are continuously aligned with the latest market trends and present day industrial requirements.

Digital Library

Capacity Building & Scaling up of our Computer Based Training Course
The Digital Library enables the visually impaired users to access books in digital formats. Our library converts printed books to accessible formats such as DAISY [Digital Access Information System], E-books and audio books enabling visually impaired to listen to the books on devices like mobile phones and laptops ensuring equal access to information for all.

Skill Development for Visually impaired

Capacity Building & Scaling up of our Computer Based Training Course
In addition to our existing centers in Bangalore, Mysore, Hassan and Gundlupet, we have set up 6 new taluk level centers where the visually impaired are identified, rehabilitated and trained on Life skills, Mobility skills and Employability skills. Our capacity is being scaled from 250 beneficiaries per year to over 1500 beneficiaries per year, while reducing the cost per beneficiary by 4x.
